These are the first 2 pages to my short story about stress. It stars the main protagonist Dima Boylan and his mech L8SR. The first two pages establish what he is doing, mainly fighting giant robots, but I like Dima's expression on the bottom of page 2. It expresses a strange calmness to the situation as it's just another day thing. I really enjoyed drawing this piece and look forward to doing more of him in the future.
This is the third page of L8SR, the final action sequence of the arc. Dima has been forced into a situation into which he must act, hence his intense expression. This expression also shows his determination to get the job done fast, which leads into the last panel where he is quite literally leaping into action.
In one of the final pages of L8SR it is revealed that Dima has a life outside of being a hero, he also has a company to run. Unfortunately to his obligations, he was late, and the shareholders are not happy, mocking him and shaming him for being late doing "teen" stuff when in reality the reader knows what he was really doing.
In a city not too far from L8SR, another hero fly's with his lunch, but his meal is cut short when he spots someone in desperate need of help. This page could use some refinement in terms of story and pacing, but the mood from light-hearted to a darker theme is noticeable in one page, which o am proud of.
Whatever you do to others will come back at you three times harder. That is his ideal, that is Karma. The shadows hold his secrets and the streets whisper his name. This piece was done on an unconventional surface, a survival book which I thought suited the character due to his extreme use of violence and overall survival instinct. The pose is my favorite part because of the foreshortening I was able to do to express a threatening nature, perhaps the view is that of one of his victims? Or maybe it's the viewer looking up to a man in a world of gods.
